Maneki Neko amigurumi, English free pattern

Maneki neko amigurumi free pattern

The Maneki Neko amigurumi is one of the first pattern of Rolly Softies.
It’s a lucky charm from Japan, and it’s believed to bring good luck to the owner. They’re usually made of ceramic or plastic, but I thought “Why not yarn?”
Actually my first maneki neko amigurumi was made of cotton, but it’s the same. I used this pattern to make a second maneki neko this winter, using acrylic yarn, and the result is as good as the first one, just bigger.

So, choose your favourite yarn and let’s crochet!

The maneki neko has different meaning based on the color. I choose red for the first one, that should be the luckiest color (I hope so!) Then I made the second one green, for academic fortune. I graduated soon after crochet it, so I think it worked.
